Love in the Time of La Dolce Vita
Shawn Levy on Italian Cinema Wednesday Evening at 7pm
ortlanders, join us at Adelina Film and Art Books Wednesday, February 8, at 7pm as film critic and author Shawn Levy presents “Love in the Time of La Dolce Vita.” Levy’s latest book, Dolce Vita Confidential, is “a romp through the worlds of film, fashion, and titillating journalism that made 1950s Rome the sexiest city on the planet.”
American versus Italian ideas of romance, the differing roles played by imported (Hepburn, Ekberg, Taylor) versus local (Loren, Vitti, Lollobrigida) sex symbols, and the myth of the Latin Lover (Mastroianni, Mastroianni, Mastroianni) are all fair game for Levy’s presentation and the Q&A to follow.
